So that's it?!

Revelation. Imagine a crystal ball of innocence smashing on the floor. Tadaa!

I never thought I'd take this approach to life, but listening to my mother (and growing a sincere appreciation for her thoughts on femininity, life and relationships) has meant I'm seeing things differently.

Communication is essential in life. Fair. Communication between men and women is essential FOR life. Fair. However, we communicate differently.

I ask Mama J (my mother dearest) "So boys brains are the same as animals brains. Just wait for food, to poo and to play outside?"

Mama J says "Yes! Seriously. Just think about it!"

I have thought. Lots. How sad to realise it is true.

They only need to be told what to do next. They don't think about what to do. They just wait for some reason to have to do something.

As opposed to women, who think between actions, pre-emptive and preparing. Men think in response to actions.

I know, I know this is mass generalisation. But I like it. I like seeing things this way right now. It's oddly inspiring. I have no idea how to manoevre through communication warfare with this new found insight. I will have to learn that through experience. When I asked lots of guys recently "What are you thinking", nine out of ten said the clichéd one-liner "Nothing at all". Really? Are male minds blank, until provoked? Personally, imagining a mind with no thoughts in it, is like suffocating. How does someone NOT think at any moment in time? But just realising all of this, and sadly giving away the benefit of the doubt, has been an eye opener.

And now I'm tired, it's time to close these seemingly pseudo sexist eyes for some sleep. Ttfn. X

Burlesque-ification.

That's right. Burlesque-ification. I've been Burlesque-ifying myself this afternoon. As you do. Well, as I do anyway.

Jamster

Wowee.. Jamster made £14.7m in 2004, and £28.54 between Jan-June in 2005.
Jamster had 130,000 subscribers in 2003, and 420,000 in 2004.

This is good. If charities can find artists and bands who are willing for their 'tunes' to be ringtone'd, and developers willing to produce gimmicky applications, they can easily compete surely?! Think Oxjam / Glasto. But, do bands/labels have to give permission for their music to be made into ringtones? Wonder what the licensing cost is? More research.

£4.50 a week? Who pays that, reaaaaally?

Musing... Jamster..

Kids paying £4.50 a week for ringtones which end up "so yesterday" within hours, and gimmicky applications. How cheap are they to produce? I guess, very. Why don't charities take a hint and follow suit? Imagine a guaranteed £18 a month from the youth market, with low output costs. I am intrigued at the revenue these companies make.. Time for some research.

Everyone loves, 118..?

New 118247 advert made me smile. It's made by the same people who made Magical Trevor. Clearly! "Everyone loves, Magical Trevor. The things that he does, are ever so clever! Look at him, disappearing a cow. Where is that cow disappearing right now?" . Hmmm.... got it stuck in my head now. "Yeah yeah yeah... the cow is back. Back, back.. back from his magical journey.. What did he see, in the parallel dimension? He saw beans, lots of beans, lots of beans, lots of beans..."

L'Apprentice

Watched L'Apprentice last night. I'm sad that Paula was fired. She was cool in my opinion. She had problems delegating, but, that's nothing you can't learn. She outright stated her inabilities, as opposed to fluffing or lying like most others would. She seemed normal, sensible, and conscientious. Gutted. Also, following Charlton Brooker's rule, those with obvious physical characteristics tend to get fired first, she was safe til the end! Pretty, no odd awful features. Nice accent, nice personality. Normally those people last til quite far on in the program.

First there was troutface, Rocky (apparently the only good looking guy on Apprentice..?! "Rocky was literally the only male we really enjoyed looking at." What about Phillip? Ah yes. Typical two-faced gossip sites "SCREEEAM! It's Apprentice Philip in his pants!!"), then there was Majid, and now Paula. Two guys, two girls. So far, even stevens.

Oh dear..

The Apprentice tonight! :)

News today - over overdraft limit again. Barclays are going to be very angry at me. Tough shit. Can't afford to post my Mum's card, but luckily I have already ordered her flowers. Unluckily, still not bought Emma's birthday presents. Shiiiiiit.

Barclays (probably knew before me about being unable to spend anymore) have refused my loan application. Well, they've "put it on hold". Ha! Off to Halifax, Lloyds, HSBC and all sorts tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

The department store where I work are looking to make people redundant. What joy. By next week. My manager aptly emphasised "If you're say, at University, and looking to graduate this year, maybe now is the time to leave". I'm the only one working there who is also at University about to graduate. Nice Mr Manager sir. I'm not choosing to quit. No way. If I don't get to go to NYC this summer I'm going to DIE without a job. I actually secretly love my job. Don't want to be "made redundant". Hmm

Gaga, L.

(Miss?) Gaga, Lady. before her, er, "transformation"... Those eyebrows hurt my face. And her honker has definately been hacked. The lady has done well.

In some ways she looks a bit like (well, either of) the Cheeky Girls, no?

Beards, cool cats and eggs.

Oh yeah! Went to the cinema last night with Ross to see The Boat That Rocked. My, my. I liked it. 'The Count' as a character was effortlessly charming, a little bit husky, and a tiny bit sexy (don't judge me!). What can I say? His rough beard, his jovial eyes, husky voice. Oof. Everytime his eyes creased to laugh I felt like I wanted to laugh with him. Nice film. Cosy film. Cool cats on screen wearing cool clothes. Bit of banter, bit of appropriately timed music. Tried to sing along with the majority of the soundtrack.. that was fun. Good film, nice night out.

So glad to see Ross yesterday. Was going out of my mind on my own. Missed him! Still get butterflies. Good sign. Bought him an Easter Egg. He left it here. So very tempted to eat and deny. Deny, deny, deny. So hungry.

So I'm lazy now, huh?

Happy Easter!

Moved everything around my room today. Looks better. New space. Looks fresh. I enjoy change. Met Huuulia for a wander to the park, sunbathe and a natter. Found out a certain boyfriend has suggested I'm lazy. This has made me a little determined. He scoffed when Huuulia said we had joined the gym, possibly saying "Ceri?! Really?". Hmm. I'm a lot like my brother and mother, I hate being put in a box and defined. Hate being told what I am, or am not. So, having learned he thinks I'm lazy (pot, kettle, black) I'm so much more determined to keep on with the gym, and then some now. Humph! Obviously there is no real animosity. I enjoy learning how I am percieved, but I am a little begrudged at the idea I'm being passively considered as lazy i.e. less equal, pathetic or sliiiightly mockable by someone whose opinion I care so much about. This will sound completely out of proportion, and bitchy when I read this back, but this is the purpose of a blog. To offload my thoughts. Huzzah!

Da-na na-na na-na na-na ratbag!

Bills to pay (water, electric, Barclays and Orange). Birthday presents and cards to buy (Mum and Emma's 21st). Wedding to go to (Cousin Joel). People to write to (Scarlet Fever, Jubilee Swoon). Newspaper to write to (The Stage). Mentoring work to do (PAL Handbook, PAL photocopy book). Uni work to do (Formula Student & my Viva Voce). Internship to finalise (New York). Loan to organise (Must go knocking on doors of banks on Tuesday). Easter eggs to eat (okay, I ate one on Friday, still got one left). All of this comes after I go over my overdraft limit. Ah life. You ratbag. So much to do, sometimes I feel a little dozy.

And... relax.
