Best things to happen to me this month so far:
Got all my 10,000 odd songs back on my laptop (a year without music is painful).
Went out for a spontaneous drink with an old high school friend, and had one of the best nights ever.
Huge looming deadline which may be the deciding factor with regards to me passing or failing my degree. Oh wait, that's one of the worst things to happen this month.. bugger.
So yes, I'm working away on one of my final academic assignments ever. I'm doing my normal self-deluded balancing act of Uni work, Google, Facebook, iTunes, Facebook Scrabble, Guardian Advertising section, Yahoo Mail, and whatever's on TV in the corner. My attention span has high taste, hence I have to find something new all the time to keep me going. Where on Earth has my rational focus gone? Where is the determined, adult approach to finishing my University degree with integrity and genuine 100% organic (that means no internet-play) hard work? I'm so utterly disappointed in myself, yet here I am on another internet outlet pouring my heard out. Kudos you big hypocritical bitch. I get cranky when I know I'm in the wrong.
On another note, I'm listening to Lucas With The Lid Off. AWESOME video by Michél Gondry (..Science of Sleep fame). Ahem, http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=B5HOsnq_2j4 .
With the University assignment I have to write a Creative Brief, Client Brief and a Media Planning report on the specific tactics of the campaign I'm planning. It's all well and good being given powerpoints, template documents and a plethora of University resources, but where does my work REALLY stand in the real world exactly? If I handed one of these brief's in to an agency, would I be laughed out? If I pitched as I do in Uni, would I be taken seriously? So many questions, so little confidence to ask anyone who may know the answer.
Now listening to Jeff Buckley, Just Like A Woman. Deliciously calming.
Ttfn little blogface.
